Riggins "Idaho's Whitewater Capital" lies between the two deepest gorges in North America, sitting at 1,800 feet in elevation, along the banks of Idaho's very own Salmon River and the Little Salmon River, the longest free-flowing river within the lower 48 states.
It is here, that you will experience some of the best fishing in Idaho. Thousands of salmon and steelhead journey up these rivers to their yearly spawning grounds. Adventures east take you up the Salmon River to the "River of No Return" Wilderness, a name that the Indians used to warn Lewis and Clark. To the west adventures will take you to the Snake River and Hells Canyon. Riggins provides an ideal home base to explore the areas of recreation, history, and scenic beauty.
